Zaqatala picked up 1 point with a 1-1 draw at home to MOIK in the seventh round of the First League. We contacted the regional side’s head coach, Rakif Aliyev, to ask for his assessment of the draw.
He told Fanat.az:
“I congratulate the lads on earning a point. I would also like to thank the fans for supporting the team. Our opponents had the upper hand throughout the match. They controlled possession in both halves. We also put together attacks and counter-attacks from time to time. MOIK are a team with an experienced head coach and quality players. Thanks to Ilham Yadullayev’s work, MOIK play with structure and confidence, catching the eye with purposeful football. I must admit that the match ended in a draw because we had a bit of luck. I want to say ‘thank you’ to our players, who fought until the end.”
