FIBA Europe Cup: “Neftchi” seek first win as “LANDAU Lions” face leaders

Fanat.az reports that Azerbaijan’s representatives in the competition, “Neftchi” and “LANDAU Lions”, are both back in action today.

“Neftchi”, coached by Kostas Vasileiadis, will face “Lokomotiv” in Bulgaria in Group H.

The game will take place in Plovdiv and tip off at 21:00 Baku time.

“Neftchi” previously lost to “Mykonos” (away – 58:78), “VEF Riga” (home – 94:110), “Fribourg” (away – 73:78) and “Oradea” (home - 83:99). Still without a win after four rounds, “Neftchi” sit bottom of Group H with 3 points. “Lokomotiv”, meanwhile, share third and fourth place with two wins and two defeats.

Azerbaijan’s other representatives, “LANDAU Lions”, face a tougher test. Erhan Toker’s side will visit “Benfica” in Portugal. The game in Lisbon will tip off at 23:00 Baku time.

The “Lions” beat “Denizli Basket” in Baku (94:86), but lost their other games to “Lions de Genève” (83:105), “Prievidza” (84:108) and “Bakken Bears” (88:91).
