Sabah head coach Valdas Dambrauskas attended a press conference after their match against Norwegian side Viking (4:1) in the main phase of the UEFA Champions League.
Fanat.az reports that the coach reflected on his side’s defeat:
“This is the Champions League, and the matches are tough. We came to Norway very well prepared. The first half was completely even. Both teams took their chances. The game was a little more open in the second half. They were stronger in the individual duels. In matches like these, you have to pay attention to the pace.”
He said the contest remained evenly matched even after his side were reduced to ten men:
“Unfortunately, the goal we conceded led to our defeat. We had been playing well, even with ten men. As I said, this is the Champions League, and the level is completely different. One small mistake can lead to us conceding a goal.”
