“We threw three points away” - Italiano delivers scathing assessment

Fanat.az reports that the Italian coach expressed his disappointment at his team’s defeat.

“It was a very bad night. I’m sad and disappointed. I think we threw away some very important points. We need to be more focused, as we were before. We’re giving away too many chances and making mistakes. We actually played well; we just needed to be more focused. We really did throw 3 points away,” Italiano said.

The head coach also addressed the defensive errors:

“At the start of the season, we were more solid defensively. We were more focused and alert, anticipating danger. Of course, you can concede chances to the opposition, but you cannot gift them so easily. We conceded three goals, and those three goals cost us points. That’s why I’m so angry.”

Italiano stressed that his team needed to return to their previous style of play.

“When we lose concentration, we pay a heavy price. We need to get back to being the Besiktas we were before. We must restore our previous defensive solidity,” the head coach added.
