Kapaz officials meet Patriotic War veterans
Kapaz have held a meeting with Patriotic War veterans to mark Victory Day on 8 November.
Fanat.az reports that the meeting was attended by Anar Abdullayev, chairman of the Board of the Kapaz PFC Public Union, and board member Umud Tarverdiyev, alongside Talib Rzayev, head coach of the Kapaz Football Academy’s U13 team, our club’s supporter liaison officer Naimi Mustafayev, and Kapaz fans Karim Guliyev and Nariman Aliyev, the latter four of whom fought to liberate our lands during the Second Karabakh War.
Warmly welcoming the guests, Anar Abdullayev thanked them for the bravery they showed in the bloody struggle against the enemy for our country’s territorial integrity. He stressed that the victory achieved in 44 days was not only a military success, but also a triumph of our people’s unshakeable resolve, national unity and devotion to the state and homeland: “As a result of the purposeful and far-sighted policies pursued over many years under the leadership of President and victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, our glorious army secured victory in 44 days. Our courageous sons, who wrote this chapter of heroism, are an example to everyone and a source of immense pride. As the Kapaz family, we are proud of you and hold your heroism during the victorious campaign in the highest regard. We pray that God grants mercy to those who sacrificed their lives for our homeland’s freedom and sovereignty, and wish our wounded veterans good health.”
Talib Rzayev, who once represented Kapaz as a player and now works at the academy, expressed his gratitude for the club management’s support. Recounting his honourable service in combat, which began on 27 September 2020, the coach said Victory Day was a legacy entrusted to future generations: “At that time, everyone’s spirits were high, and we were burning with a desire for revenge that had built up over the years. We never lost our optimism on the front line, not even for a moment, and ultimately achieved a historic victory. Today, at the Kapaz Football Academy, we are teaching children the skills of football and developing them not only as professional athletes, but also as the soldiers of the future.”
Kapaz supporter liaison officer Naimi Mustafayev also emphasised that Victory Day was one of the most glorious chapters in Azerbaijan’s history: “This magnificent victory will live forever in our people’s national memory, in the history of our statehood and in the minds of future generations. Keeping the memory of victory alive also means honouring our fallen, our wounded veterans and their loved ones. It is heartening that the Kapaz management is also actively helping to keep this tradition alive. As Kapaz fans, we support you and wish you success in your future plans for our club, which has become one of the symbols of Ganja.”
At the end of the meeting, Anar Abdullayev, chairman of the Board of the Kapaz PFC Public Union, presented gifts to the wounded veterans.
The club management and war veterans posed together for a commemorative photograph.
